Our heritage is of significance to us because it makes us who we are by Noluntu Nzwana

Heritage Day to me means celebrating our cultural and traditional diversity as South Africans. We therefore need to celebrate who we are and learn from each other. In the work place, I embrace cultural diversity by showing interest in other people’s languages and by respecting their cultural beliefs. I show interest in understanding their backgrounds on a deeper level.

Our heritage is of significance to us because this heritage makes us who we are and our cultural beliefs. My photo tells a story about myself, I am a Xhosa woman wearing Xhosa traditional skirt called umbhaco, beaded necklace and carrying a beaded stick. Traditionally, in Xhosa culture a person’s social status and identity could be read through their beadwork.
